It’s all part of our Rock n Roll Fantasy

A bigger than life movie about a bigger than life band on a bigger than life road trip quest to achieve their dreams of getting big in Japan needed a bigger than life main and end title sequence. This is our attempt to hit that bigger than life target. Watch the movie, it’s pretty damn fun.

The Process

The Process

Most of you know what it’s like to be in the audience of a rock show and find yourself swept into the euphoria of the live show. You are part of the communal essence of the moment, you are stirred by the movement, the bass and the energy of all those around you. The band on the other hand feels what? We asked ourselves that very question. They are gods, they are living out the fantasies that they have had since childhood, they are Styx live at Budokan, they are Springsteen in East Berlin back in 88, they are legend. We found that feeling and put it on film, we slapped its ass and sent it off into the world screaming.

Working with Bobby and the team at the New Blank was an absolute pleasure. I was very impressed with the thoughtfulness that went into the concepts they pitched us for the title credits, taking my initial idea and expanding it beyond what I could have imagined yet staying completely true to the film and its story.

It’s an amazing sequence that I’m very proud of and really does set the tone for the film.
